Where our pets come from

First and foremost, none of our animals come from puppy mills. Most of our animals come from hobbyist breeders (those that have litters every couple years) or the results of happy accidents. We do not get our animals from professional breeders. If you want to know the information on any animal in our store, a manager can tell you the history of each one.

Adoption Policies

Here at the Pet Corner, we are animal lovers first, and a pet store second. We strive to find happy, loving and healthy homes where our animal can strive. Most of our animals tend to be toy breeds and mixes making them great for the small homes in Hawaii. We offer a complimentary initial vet inspection within the first seven days of purchase. The vet will confirm the animal is healthy and if there is any medical issues, you may return the animal to us or we work with you to find a solution.

Oahu SPCA

From time to time we help the Oahu SPCA find homes for animals here in Hawaii. Any adoption fee for these animals goes directly to the Oahu SPCA to help fund a shelter. To adopt from the SPCA, you must have the following requirements.

What to expect from pet ownership

Expect an animal that will love you unconditionally, provide lifelong friendship as well as health benefits. According to the Center of Disease Control, (http://www.cdc.gov/healthypets/health_benefits.htm)pets can decrease your:

• Blood Pressure
• Cholesterol Levels
• Triglyceride Levels
• Feelings of loneliness

With all the benefits there are costs to owning a pet including yearly vet visits for inoculation, monthly dog foods, treats, registration and grooming. Here in Hawaii we don’t require a rabbis shot, but animals do need heartworm and flee and tick medicine year round because of our climate.   We love to see our extended family of pets so please come back and visit.
